Biography
Viorel Babii has a master’s degree in Social Work, Studies of Childhood and Children’s Rights. He has more than 20 years of experience in developing and supporting youth participation networks in Moldova through regional and local youth resource centers and local youth councils. In 2011, Viorel started working as the manager at Health for Youth Association, which supports the network of youth friendly health services in Moldova. Viorel Babii is an experienced project manager - he has managed comprehensive projects at the national level, such as “Healthy Generation – youth friendly health services in Republic of Moldova”, and “RISE- Prevention of child mental health problems in Southeastern Europe – Adapt, Optimize, Test and Extend Parenting for Lifelong Health”, the latter of which includds a focus on implementation and research on educational programs for parents. He also was part of an international initiative for adapting the Parenting for Lifelong Health programmes for adolescents into an online parenting support group delivered via online text messaging platforms in the context of COVID-19 – ePLH. Viorel is also Member of the national Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children research team.
